Making their first Lincoln Center Out of Doors debut, CHIO-TIAN FOLK DRUMS AND ARTS GROUP is a traditional Taiwanese folk drum troupe founded in 1995 to engage youth in crisis to participate in the Taiwanese music and dance street performances and parades held for temple festivals. It has since become one of Taiwan’s leading traditional troupes of its kind.

Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Arts Troupe is here to bring you the sights and sounds of Taiwanese Temple festivities.

From the thundering drums to the mesmerizing and ritualistic dance steps of the infamous Taiwanese “8 Generals (Bah Jia Jiang)” to the Third Prince (San Taizu) and more. You will experience Taiwanese culture to its fullest on a summer’s night in New York City.
